How To Create A Webinar To Sell Your Online Course

In this post, you will learn how to create a webinar.

Creating a webinar that attracts your target audience and sells your course can be a daunting task, but with the right planning and execution, it can be done.

90% of course webinars do not convert. Use the guide below to help you create one that does.

To create a webinar that resonates with your target audience, start by understanding who they are and what they care about. You do this by creating a customer avatar.

What is a customer avatar?

A customer avatar is a representation of your target customer. You define one by factors such as:

  • age
  • gender
  • likes
  • dislikes
  • status
  • where they hang out
  • what outcomes they are looking to achieve
  • what keeps them up at night
  • etc…

If you nail the customer avatar the people who attend the webinar will feel as if the webinar was made directly for them.

Once you have a good understanding of who your audience is, you can start to craft a webinar that is relevant to their interests.

Step 1: Define Your Webinar Topic

The first step in creating a successful webinar is to decide on a topic that interests your target audience. This can be difficult, but by using the following tips you can create a webinar that is both interesting and relevant to your audience.

First, consider what topics are currently trending in your industry or field.

Do not copy them. You’re either looking to bring something fresh into an existing topic or show why the assumed topic is wrong and why.

Second, think about what topics would be of interest to your target audience.

If you are creating a webinar that sells a course to business owners, for example, you might want to focus on specific topics such as getting leads, converting leads, hiring a salesperson, or streamlining customer service.

Additionally, make sure to provide valuable content that your target audience will find valuable without giving away the how.

The point of a webinar is to make the prospect believe that the outcome you are promising in your offer is achievable for them.

Finally, make sure to create a compelling call to action at the end of your webinar that will encourage your target audience to sign up for your next event.

The offer should be a no-brainer to purchase and have a timer on it.

Step 2: Choose Your Webinar Platform

Choosing the right webinar platform is essential for your success. There are a variety of platforms available, so it’s important to choose the one that best suits your needs.

Some popular webinar platforms include:

Zoom: Zoom is one of the most used and free tools online to connect with your target audience. With Zoom, you can easily create a webinar that attracts your targeted audience. You can use Zoom to connect with people in your area, share your content, and track the progress of your webinar. You can also use Zoom to create a webinar that targets a specific audience.

Slack: Slack is a popular chat app for businesses. It’s perfect for hosting webinars because it’s easy to use and has a large user base.

WebinarOwl: WebinarOwl is a webinar hosting platform that allows you to create custom webinars with ease.

GoToWebinar: GoToWebinar is a popular online course platform that makes it easy to create and host webinars.

Step 3: Create Your Webinar Registration Page

Creating a webinar registration page can be a daunting task, but with the help of a few simple tools, it can be a breeze. The first step is to create a landing page that is tailored to your audience. This page should include information about the webinar, how to register, and any other relevant details. Next, use social media to promote the webinar. Share the landing page on your social media accounts, and encourage your followers to sign up. Finally, create a call to action on the registration page that encourages people to join the webinar.

Step 4: Market Your Webinar

Once your webinar is live, you need to market it to your target audience. There are a number of methods you can use to reach your audiences, such as social media, email marketing, and paid advertising. It’s important to find the most effective way to reach your target audience, so you can generate the most interest in your webinar.

You are going to use the customer avatar to figure out where your audience hangs out. Choose one channel at first and dial in that message before moving on to others.

Less is more when it comes to marketing your online course via a webinar..

Step 5: Send Out Your Webinar Invitation

Now that you have created a webinar that is relevant to your target audience, it is time to send out the invitation. There are a few different ways to do this, and it depends on what type of webinar you are hosting.

If you are using a webinar platform like Zoom, you can easily send invitations through their platform. You can create a live event, add participants, and send out invitations through email or social media.

If you are hosting a webinar yourself, you will need to create an event on your own website and then send out invitations through email or social media. You will need to include information about the date and time of the webinar, as well as how to join.

Step 5: Send Out Webinar Reminders

After you create your webinar, you will want to send out reminders to your target audience. This can be done in a variety of ways, such as email, social media, or even a text message alert. It is important to make sure that your reminders are effective and engaging, so make sure to test different formats and strategies before you launch your webinar.

We recommend at least three

  • 1 day before
  • 4 hours before
  • 15 min before

Step 6: Follow Up To Get People To Buy Your Offer

After you’ve created a webinar, it’s important to follow up with attendees to ensure they take action and buy your offer. Here are some tips for doing so:

  • Send them a confirmation email that confirms their attendance and provides information about the webinar’s content.
  • Send them additional resources after the webinar, such as slides or recordings of the session.
  • Send them follow-up emails after the webinar to ask them about their experience and to remind them about the offer.
